Science Week PechaKucha
Back in August last year I took part in a special PechaKucha night of talks for science week, I noticed that the talk had recently been uploaded so I thought Iād share it here.
PechaKucha is a really cool but really tricky talk format, you can only use images and no text, you have 20 slides and 20 seconds for each slide, after this the slide moves on to the next one automatically. This makes for short, engaging and fun talks, but as a presenter means you have to be concise and to the point. These style of talks take place regularly in loads of cities around the world, covering a wide range of topics, but to celebrate science week all of the talks in Cairns every August have a sciencey theme.
This was a pretty intimidating talk to do as the venue (The Tanks in Cairns) is really big and was completely full, it was a great opportunity to be able to tell so many people about my research though!
You can see the talk below and here, where you can also find all of the other PechaKucha talks too.
